Materials:

Pen and brown ink and gray wash, squared in black chalk and pricked for transfer, roughly indicated framing lines at the corners

330 by 217 mm; 13 by 8 in

Edition:

The sheet is window mounted to a modern paper backing and partially covered with a modern decorative mount. The current mount covers circa 15mm of the sheet to its four edges. There is surface dirt and staining to the extremities, as well as evidence of an old mount stain. The upper and lower right corners have been cut and there is an old horizontal fold to the centre of the sheet. The outline of the figure is pricked for transfer and these marks are particularly noticeable to the verso of the sheet. There is some staining to the lower left quarter of the sheet and other minor scattered surface dirt and staining throughout the rest of the sheet. The combination of media remain in predominantly good condition throughout with the overall image strong. Sold in a giltwood frame.
